This DVD covers all the basics. You can tell that Mr. Cox has a passion for road cases. After watching the DVD, I was confident enough to order the parts and get started right away. So far so good!

    Whiners Make Me Laugh

Posted by Bonnie on 24th Jul 2013

I read all of the reviews, and I am laughing at the whiners. I recently received the Educational Suite and watched the DVD and read both manuals. If you can't build any style of case from all of that information then you shouldn't be building a case PERIOD!! Plus they give you free technical support if you still have a question. I had a question about a custom interior idea that I wanted to do, and they talked to me on the phone about it, explained what to do, and also created a help document and emailed it to me! What more could you ask for??? If you are that helpless that you have to give anything less than 5 stars on this product then you're just not capable of DIY projects. And I'm a woman! Get a clue helpless whiny men!!

    Pretty complete

Posted by Dave Wurze. on 18th Jul 2013

Everything you'd want to know about storage cases. Only gave it 4 stars because I am particularly interested in building 19" rack cases and there was nothing specific to these ::::::::::::::::::::: DIY Road Cases® Response ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Hi Dave, Thanks for the feedback and kind words. Everything contained in the video will teach you the mechanics of how to build build a case, and this knowledge can then be applied to any case style. However, there are so many case styles and variations, that if we were to cover them all in the Flagship Video, it would probably end up being a 3-5 disc DVD series comprising hours and hours of video. This is why we cover a variety of specialty topics in the FlexiCase Design Tool Manual, and in our other our support documents. If you haven't noticed yet, rack and shock-mount rack cases are covered in the FlexiCase Design Tool Manual. If you have any other questions regarding your project, you are always welcome to contact us for free technical support. Don't pay attention to some of these whiners

Posted by Bill Nothelpless on 23rd May 2013

This things is the shit! I read all the reviews and I can tell you that the other good reviews tell it straight up. Obviously "Nick" and "Ken" are little whiners that probably complain about everything from stuff they order at restaurants to how their boss rides their ass. Nick, if you can't build a bitching road case from this instruction than you are just a needy helpless guy who shouldn't be trying to build his own case in the first place. Go let your wife change your diaper and stick to marbles. And Ken, you want them to give this away for free?? Apparently you have never owned or run a business. This thing blows away any of the clips made by dorks that I researched on Youtube before finding this. People - BUY this if you never built a case before!!

    Content is disappointing

Posted by Nick on 18th Mar 2013

After watching the DVD and reading the manuals, I was disappointed in the depth of information contained therein. I was hoping to see greater detail, and maybe even some variation. It would have been nice to see how to install a mixer deck, for example. The information that is there is very good, but it is at a very high level. ::::::::::::::::::::: DIY Road Cases® Response ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Hi Nick, We are sorry that you were a little bit disappointed, but let me explain a bit regarding your coments. The Flagship Video is a general, all-inclusive, guide to building a road case from scratch. So, here is what we have done, and are continuing to add, in reference to supplemental information and topics regarding case styles and variations. The Video Manual and FlexiCase Design Tool Manual do cover additional topics such as mixer deck placements, rack-mounting, telescoping recessed handles, etc. (not sure if you saw all of this yet). While not in the same detail as a video demonstration, they do provide the general information, and hopefully that combined with what folks learn in the video, they can then apply everything combined into creating aspects of their case. For example . . . the video teaches you how to create partitions inside of a case. The FlexiCase Design Tool Manual shows you documentation regarding two different styles of cases with mixer decks. You would create the mixer decks in the same way as a case partition, just in a slightly different fashion. We are also getting ready to launch a series of specialty video clips that will also cover many different aspects beyond basic case building. In addition to all of this, we have FREE world-class technical support via phone and email, where we help folks with their case-building and customization questions that they have after watching videos and reading manuals. We can talk you through such explanations, provide detailed email instruction, and provide you with other custom documentation related to helping you with accomplishing tasks not covered in the basic video. I hope that helps a bit! Best wishes, Jonathan Beacon Director of Sales & Merchandising DIY Road Cases® 213-341-0026 Ext.707

Why Sell This Instead Of Free?

Posted by Ken on 1st Mar 2013

Hi, I didn't give this product 3 stars based on its quality. It was excellent and I made great use of what I learned. I am just wondering why you guys sell this when there are clips for free on the Internet. I did buy it and did find it very useful but maybe you guys could provide it free since people buy your parts? :::::::::::::::::: DIY Road Cases® Response :::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Thank you for your feedback. Yes, we are aware that there are video demonstration clips on the web, many of them very helpful. However, as you now, our Educational Suite if a full-compliment how-to guide containing a wide variety of video instruction, along with even more numerous help files in the Video Manual and FlexiCase Design Tool™ Manual. All of this is also frequently updated with new topics and revisions, in order to provide customers with the most comprehensive case-building how-to guide. A lot of man-hours and effort go into such an instructional program. As with any other full-blown instructional series on the web (for any educational topic) there are costs associated with producing them, duplicating them, packaging them, and maintaining them, along with download bandwidth costs. Hence, why the majority of instructional programs are for sale and not simply provided for free. Also, many people would rather have this instructional media in their possession, instead of having to bounce around on YouTube every time they need to refer to a technique or topic, and for this convenience they are willing to pay a fair price for such a wealth of knowledge to have in their possession, just as you did I am sure. We are glad that you found our program useful, we appreciate your purchases, and we thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Best wishes, Jonathan Beacon Director of Sales & Merchandising DIY Road Cases® 213-341-0026 Ext.707

    Nice product for beginners.

Posted by Warren Sargent / Kings Light Produtions on 26th Jan 2013

I enjoyed the video series. It covers the basics well for the standard construction of cases. My only suggestion would be to cover the basic construction techniques, then take a project from start to finish, Showing how to measure your equipment to be cased. then showing how to allow for different types of foam and the measurement allowances and then to the layout of panel parts and then the final assembly and fit of the case. This will help people when building custom cases for their equipment. I've been doing carpentry for years and custom build studio rack equipment and know there are some tricks and tips to measuring. just my 2 cents. Nice product overall. Thank You

    Completely Doable.

Posted by Jimmy on 22nd Jan 2013

I had no idea that it could be so simple to build custom cases for my gear. I've been shopping for cases and couldn't get what I wanted without paying through the nose. I am planning my cases now and plan to build them next week. I feel very confident after viewing the video, it is completely doable!
