Description
Our backplates are a great alternative to using backing washers. Backplates save time and aggrevation during latch installation, especially for mass production (not so much for building one case at a time). Hold one backplate in place as you pop all of your rivets into your latches, instead of adding one backing washer at a time. However, unless you are making your cutouts and drilling holes in your panels with a CNC router, or other similar methods for precision cutting and drilling) you need to take extra care when drilling your mounting holes, or you can soon find yourself with difficulty in getting the all of the backplate holes to line up with the latch/handle.
For use with recessed latches only.

This also fits the large recessed lid stay as well as the large standard latch. While you could use backing washers and save a few bucks, this backplate most importantly is the perfect cutout template for the latch! Place the backplate where the cutout is supposed to be, trace inside the backplate and just cutout along the lines. Dead perfect and dead simple. Worth the money and time it saves you trying to outline a "3.63" x "2.21" cutout (or whatever the dimensions are).
